Sorry if my posts about halves are getting annoying, but I just thought I'd do a follow-up on what jbuck said about different vending machines being able to accept halves if they would swap out the coin slots.

I noticed in the orange quarter slots that are sometimes lit up (but they usually say "50" cents however) well, they seem to have some space on the top of the coin slot that looks like they could be, and are intended to be cut or ground upward, to make the slot bigger (presumably, big enough to accept halves) so I will have to ask the vendor I was talking to about that. (He is currently out of office until next week, but of course I will let you all know know my efforts go) One can only hope that, if the $1 bill is eliminated, and these arcade games are upgraded to accept dollar coins, that they are also upgraded to accept halves as well, just as I said the new $2 bills and $5 bills of the next currency redesign should come out simultaneiously so that vendors could reprogram their machines for redesigned $2 bills while their machines are pulled apart to reprogram for the next new design $5 bills.

Now, before you think I'm only in it for halves, remember, I'm also in it for $2 bills as well.
