I am a slightly passive coin collector. A friend of mine from England I am working with gave me two coins he picked up for me while he was in Estonia (in Europe) at a coin shop and thought they might both be counterfeits. I have looked at them and can't tell other than they don't seem to match up to the obvious things that would say they would be fakes. Is there anyone out there that could look at a few pictures and tell me if the are real or not?

P.S. the photo uploader does not seem to work, if you would contact me I'll email you the photos

1st coin is a 1796 Liberty Dollar
2nd coin is a 1875 Trade dollar

They are both in very good condition.

Without images we really can't say anything definitive, but the odds are not good for them being real.

On the 1796 Draped bust dollar, there should be lettering going around the edge of the coin that says "ONE HUNDRED CENTS OR UNIT". If this is a genuine coin,it is a nice one.

The Trade dollar is a definite fake, the bust dollar is probably a fake too.

your microscope camera LED lighting is interfering with the surface for an accurate look. can you take cam shots with a smartphone or digital camera so we can get a better idea of the surface and other details? also, please post the reverse of the coins. Just showing the obverse (front) will not assist the experts in diagnostics that need to be assessed.

The 1796 is a large date type. In current grading and condition its a $7,500 coin, easily. what did your friend pay the coin ship in Esotnia?

Do you have scale? Are they magnetic? The pock marked surface of the Trade dollar seems off.
