If you had the same Canadian cent graded, what would you rather get as a grade:

(1) from ICCS, an ms65 Red

or

(2) from PCGS, an ms66 Red-Brown

Also, please state if you're from the US or from Canada.

Personally, this Canuck would always go with an ICCS ms65 Red.

t would depend on the coin of course. Many red ICCS cents would be PCGS RB. So the colour comments may be equal. Or maybe the ICCS is better if it is truly red. The 65 and 66 may also be a wash. But maybe not.

You're reading way too much into the question.

First of all, it's the SAME coin.

You send it once to ICCS and it comes back ms65 red.

Very magically, you send the same coin to PCGS and it grades ms66 red-brown.

There you have it....simple.

Which grade would you rather have?

I'd rather have it in an ICCS MS65 red holder. (I'm a Canadian in Canada)

If I was a seller of the coin, probably the ICCS 65 Red. The RB description is a bit of a value killer. People can still dream about it being a PCGS Red coin if it is in the ICCS holder.

In my opinion, the word "red" sounds better without the word "brown" behind it.

Was I pleased with the colour and grade before I submitted it?
Does it fit in with the rest of my collection?
Will it soon be sold?
How many are graded higher?
Was it part of a bulk submission?
Is it really worth the extra cost of a PCGS slab?

I'd rather have it like that:

(3) in a 2x2, with a handwritten MS-64 grade.

Out of the options listed, ICCS, because their holders somehow manage to not look like the coin is imprisoned but like it is protected (i.e. like a good thing instead of a bad one). And either way I'd rather have a MS-64 Brown than either of the two higher grades... or I would be too afraid to break the fragile thing

(I'm from Russia, and don't particularly collect Canadian cents. I do, however, have a nice blazing red US cent [1955] in my collection; it's in a 2x2, and so far I've had it for almost a year and it's still blazing red. Which isn't something I can claim for many other formerly-red coins in my collection...)

I collect higher end small and large cents, from Canada, my preference would be PCGS MS-66 RB. Just because it is in an ICCS 'Red' holder, does not mean that the coin is, in fact, red. I would lean toward the PCGS definition of red, being 95% original lustre. Most of my collection are in ICCS MS-65 red holders, and in time, the best ones will be sent to PCGS...

I would much rather see the coin in PCGS plastic. Only if the coin is unavailable in PCGS or NGC would I look for an ICCS example.
Why yes, I am from the US. How could you tell?
