1923 Peace dollar...

I have had this in my collection for some time. My question is...Would you free it from it's bonds or leave it alone?

The back basically reads. "Worcester Federal Savings and loan association""$1,000 Club"

Around the edge it reads "New England's Largest" and then the address's of the two bank locations.

Sorry for the poor photos. Just did a quick point and shoot.

I sort of like the added descriptions. I know that Peace dollar is nice but for some reason I like it the way it is. The history or it is neat to me

I would keep it all intact. It might even be a good luck charm to carry on those long road trips on the bike.

Just don't put your ignition key on it...you might be replacing the ignition switch later on due to the weight.

I think it is pretty cool as it is. It would be neat to find out the reason for the key ring.

Leave well enough alone. Might do more damage than good attempting to free it.

I'm with the "leave it alone" crowd.
Look, the 1923 is common. The history is part of Worcester and part of banking.
Indeed, it might be worth a bit more than bullion to a historian or to a banking collector.

I would sell it to me just the way it is, I live right next to " Whista " (Worcester) and would love to have a piece of Worcester numismatic history

I agree with all the previous replies. Leave it as is, put a key on it and carry it daily. Would be a nice pocket piece.

WOW...no one wants to see it freed! I'm surprised but pleased. I was leaning towards keeping it the way it is.

ram96, thanks for the link. All those old photos are awesome! I'm going to get a copy of the bank and make some kind of a framed display.
