Here's another one of those "too good to be true" auctions. Somehow I don't even think the pic of Lincoln looks real. Of course, he bought this at a estate sale, knows nothing about it, but is willing to sell it "AS IS" What do you think?

I have to admit I am not great on this series but I have handled plety of these little buggers and this one looks funny to me also. Metalman would be one to chime in on thisen though because he is real good with this series of coinage

I see 3 possible answers to the question of whether that coin is real: 1. No.
2. Heck, no.
3. What does it matter since you're not foolish enough to pay more than $100 to find out?

Probably fake, but how could you tell with those pics. The S VDB is probably one I'll buy slabbed if I ever buy one.

I sent the seller the following:

I have a general question about your coin: when it turns out that your coin is counterfeit and you won't accept returns, which Federal agency would you prefer the buyer to report you to? You really should have had this coin authenticated prior to listing it. Thanks in advance for your response.

Interesting as he has added information to the listing that some are questioning whether it is a fake, but that he still believes it is real. All this after sending you a note that he knows it is fake. How do you spell "crooked"?

Looks like he removed it now.
Btw, are those a series of lamination errors on the die...or just physical lacerations?

I've got a joke now:

Abe Lincoln walks into a bar. -OUCH!
