Anyone here who considers the coin to be AU based on the pictures supplied please PM me and I will sell you as many as you want at half the buy it now price. You will get coins that look the same as the one pictured however they will probably be labeled VG or F http://cgi.ebay.com/NICE-ALMOST-UNC...NT_W0QQitemZ320112931967QQihZ011QQcategoryZ149924QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Hopefully overpriced for a raw coin and definitely overgraded. Richard, do you happen to have available an 1872 2-cent which is similarly overpriced and overgraded and that you would sell at half this '71's BIN price. If so, I think we can do business...

He's got 2 offers on it... I wonder how much those people are willing to spend?
The pics are too dark for me to get a good look at, and I know little about this series, but I KNOW that the coin is FAR below AU!

I put in an offer for $55 and got countered with an offer at $100
Morgan Fred I have nothing from 1872 that I would part with for his BIN price.... let alone Half....

After our recent experience, Richard, I wonder if PCGS would consider it AU?

Yo! Itsa beeyoutee! But Richard has a very valid question: it should be in a slab to guarantee it hasn't been tinkered with and is genuwine. If I had the time and money, I'd look into it a lot deeper. This '72 2-cent approaches the unbelievable. The old adage applies: "If it's too good to be true, it probably ain't.".

Check out his "Very Good" 2 Cent Currently at $2.24 with 4 hrs to go I do believe my AG is better then this VG Now here is my About Good 2 Cent that sold for 1 Cent Well at least they did not pay much over AG money for it. It should have sold for around $5

I would call the one in the first post a VF. I'm still practicing, anyone disagree?

USArmy I played with the images in the first post in photoshop and at best the We is very week if complete at all the top of the E looked worn away. there are also issues with the shield and playing with the lighting there seems to be something around the date area that may be corrosion. Moving the coin up half an inch when the picture was taken would have given a much better view of the date. I would base on what I can see I would have given the coin a solid VG10 maybe an F12 if the area around the date was clean. So VF is not to far off as I have been called overly conservative, upon occasion.

Richard, you sold that for 1 cent? I hope it was a large cent. Sellin' money for half face is a tough way to make a livin'. Do you have any others like that you'd sell for $1? I'd take one of each date.

LOL@nohope587 I believe puffbrowse's ebay auction for "so-called" AU two-cent peice is probably an EF-40 or lower. The pictures are too small.
