Hi, just sorting through coins that have been in storage for some years.
Have loaded 2 that I think are 1891 CHINA Kwangtung Province Silver 20-Cents, and 1912 Sun Yat-Sen Silver Commemorative 20-Cents,has Rev crossed flags. Any opinions appreciated. thanks ErikP

I don't like the looks of the surfaces. Coin number two looks really bad. The surfaces look more like cast coins then they look like machined coins. However, I am not as familiar with Chinese coins so maybe someone else will know more.

The Dragon appears to be missing details around the head. The Dots of the body should be much closer and filling. This is one of my favorite designs when legit. Weight them, see if they are magnetic. Or even do the drop test to see if it has the Silver ring. That will help
I would have to say #1 is not legit, Probably a cast copy.

This link has images of a Kwangtung Province 1891 20 cents which you can enlarge and make close comparisons with your own coin:-

Thanks for your comments. At least their identity I have right but whether or not what the coins purport or imply they are is the question. I don't think the coins are cast. But they may have been cleaned a few years ago. I need the advice of a specialist with expertise who can determine for sure. Thanks ErikP.

Nice pictures! Helps to make more accurate comments.
1st coin:
These coins can vary in the quality of manufacture, but
I find myself agreeing with numismatic biz.

2nd coin:
Not keen on the surface texture at all. Style of image of Sun Yat Sen looks 'iffy', but the style can vary a bit.
What is the weight? It could help if you could post a picture of the edge in the most suspicious place.
Need to do a comparative ring tone test against an equivalent known genuine coin, IF one is available.

I have what I think are quite genuine examples of both of these coins, and they DO look different to these.

sel_69l hi, thanks. I'm traveling this week. Shall get a weight to the coins to see how they go with genuine weights. Take some photos of the edge/rims then post next weekend. Possibly the strong light I used as coins don't look nearly that way with 15x? Regards ErikP.

Hi, to those people who assisted thanks. Separate inspections by people that know better than I of the coins view was not genuine just copies. Able to view a genuine one with the copies and now see obvious differences. My wife wants them for her jewelry making all hers. She can drill holes in them. ErikP
