It wasn't made with an intent to deceive, but as a modern Christian devotional item referring to the New Testament story of Mark 12:41 and Luke 21:1.

So obviously not genuine, that there is no intention to deceive.
That plant is the now extinct silphium plant, which was used to make expensive perfumes.
