Research what others are using, and the quality/quantity of finds. My old Explorer 2 hunts circles around my Etrac, but I sure bought into the hype. At a push I would consider one for the beach, but then they are possibly too jittery for that. Oh and chzman, the AT pro is what I would consider and entry level machine.
