Hi I'm a newbie on here so be gentle. I just seen these coins on a well known auction site. It says the local council got them minted and then got into hot water with the uk treasury as they were being used to purchased goods. Anyone know the correct story on these coins, or are they just shiny metal ? Thanks John
Rest in Peace

Bluespanner! Most of the time CCF is gentle! I do not know anything about your search but maybe someone will. Hang in there and enjoy.

These Isle of Wight "coins" are listed in the catalogue of "Unusual World Coins". As such, they also turn up in a search on the NGC database, which includes coins listed in UWC. Here's one example.
