Found this 1955 NSF not to long ago while Roll Hunting. Looking for opinions on grade. Also...would this coin warrant be sent in to ICCS for grading? Have never sent a coin in before. Thank you in advance.

cladhunter, nice find.

I put mine on ebay a year or so ago, and sold for $180.00 raw, about the same condition.

Ty SHAFTA9a for the info. Considering the demise of the Canadian Cent...I do not think I can bring myself to sell it as I more then likely would never get one again. At least for the price I paid for it (1 cent) :)

So...at todays value (According to coinsandcanada.com) you would put it somewhere between F-12 and VF-20?

Anyone have a current trends value for it? :)

Fine Trends $180
VF Trends $225

I would grade it at F15.

Thank you for the reply machaj.. I have determined that I have no real intention to sell the coin so It will look just as good in my collection in a 2x2. No need for me to certify what I know is authentic. It most likely will be the only example of this variety I will ever find in the wild. It is a treasure to me. Even if it was in Poor condition it is a hole filler and will remain. Who knows. In 20 years...it might be worth a bit more.

Hi,

My guess would be a very close VF-20. Should get you around $200. You will have no problem selling this coin, many are looking for them.

Nice find

I sold a nice VF-30 at Nuphilex, to a CCF member... a scarce coin and relatively undervalued, in my opinion.

That's one great find for roll hunting.

They sell close to full trend prices to. I agree with you if you have a penny into it and don't have one in your collection just keep it.

Thank you for the replies. I have had several people make offers on it. I just can not bring myself to sell it. The only coins I have sold I sold to make a purchase for my other favorite hobby. I bought my metal detector and it only cost me around 85 cents in circulation coin finds to get it.
