So I have come across these lot of five coins, I realise they will not have value as coins as they have been made into pendants and there is a hole in two.

But I would be very grateful for some information on them as it is interesting to know what they are! I have numbered them to aid identification.

All Afghanistan, Durrani Dynasty. 18th to 19th Century.
The mounts and holes diminsh the value a bit but they're not worthless as coins. Mounting or holing coins is exceedingly common throughout the middle east and central asia as they were used for jewelry. You can remove the mounts, just mention in the description "mount removed" and it's perfectly acceptable to most collectors.

Hi there

Thanks for your help, I just have one more question - Are any of them special enough to warrant the mounts being removed?

I was just going to sell them as pendant as they would be an interesting piece for someone to wear (I know that's probably sacrilege on a coin board! but at least I'm not scrapping them)

Thanks
Dan

I'd pay no more than $14 retail or $7 wholesale for these, less if by bullion value.

All are fairly common. Nice as jewelry though.
