matthew . . . nice additions. Hmmmmm - looks like you have recently come down with the dreaded 179x fever. It certainly is a challenge to cure that fever on a tight budget.

Very nice indeed... It still amazes me to see early coins. From the hands to made it to all the hands that have touched it (and the hands that will touch it in the future).

From coin show, ebay, or elsewhere?

I understand a tight budget. Just remember, it's about enjoying the collection you have not the quantity!

I'm at a loss for words. Neither were designed by Charles Barber! :D

Nice pick-ups MV. I especially like the Half Dime.

Nice no drapery example of the Half Dime.

Some day ill start on the 179Xs. Gotta finish the 1900s first. By then the 179Xs may be out of reach for a tight budget.

25 years ago when I first became interested in coins I wanted a coin from the late 1700's.

Here I am 25 years later with a whole lot more money than when I as 12 and still not owning one.

Congrats.

They look like they could be my 179x large cent and Half Dime, so similar are they to the ones in my collection! Nice specimens, both. I hope you are as happy with them as I am with mine. Why it should make such a difference, I don't know, but there's just something about crossing back before that 1800 mark...
