OK...Here are some pictures of what I believe to be a very odd double die obverse 1943-S quarter. Please note the doubling in the "E: of WE, in the nose, and the doubled eyelid. Let me know what you think.

The "E" in WE is interesting...I will have to defer to a knowledgeable member who should be along shortly.

Here is what I found on PCGS Coin Facts...not the same at all, but there are numerous other varieties;

That is definitely a doubled die but I have never seen it before. CONECA has 22 DDOs listed for 43-S but it is most likely DDO-004 based on the description- Medium spread North on WE, eye, nose, mouth, and chin
. That DDO is classified as Class IV Offset Hub Doubling with the second hubbing offset to the north and slightly west.
