I have a 1923 $1.00 silver certificate (looks like the dollar bill, only bigger) that has been sitting in an envelope in a safe for the past 40 years or so. It is in fair condition, and I would like to know about how much it is worth.
Rest in Peace

Hi McDonnal! Without knowing the condition it's tough to put an exact value on it. They are very common and go from about $5.00 in good condition to about $35.00 in Extra Fine. From that point, the series, issue, and condition can have the price go from $35.00 to over $1000.00. You need to get it graded or buy a currency grading guide and try to determine the grade yourself. Hope this helps a bit. Mike

Probably the market value would be $25-$40
