Both these coins sold out some time ago.

According to the Mint's sale figures: http://www.silvercoinstoday.com/us-...-out/108621/ the ASE Proof sold out at 819,217, the 2012-W Uncirculated ASE sold out at 202,504 coins, and the ASE bullion version sold 33,742,500 coins.

Over time, wouldn't the 2012-W Uncirculated ASE command a higher premium over the 2012 proof? Or do proofs always carry the higher premium?

It does happen where the uncirculated commands a higher premium over time from the lower mintage. Its not assured as its all supply and demand but between the two I would go for the uncirculated since at the very least it would be harder to find after a sell out

So does the 2012 w have a lower mintage that the 2012 s and 2012 s reverse proof?

Thanks basebal21 for the response. I agree with what you said and wanted confirmation from a seasoned collector.

You also need to keep in mind the 2012 W is "still" available at the mint, (although currently offline for repricing), in the uncirculated dollars package. I just mention that because the total issued is still not finalized for them.

Yup, those Annual Dollar Sets are a great product and the 2012's are a way to get this historic low mintage burnished W.

Before the "repricing" halt sales were just north of 27k.

I still expect the 2012 W total to be relatively small compared to other years, it would take a lot of the dollar sets to raise the number. It is good to see they have the 2013 set scheduled for release in July. I was wondering if it was going to be back or disappear again.

2012-W Proof ASE's were also included in the 2012 Limited Edition Proof Set (50,000 mintage), in addition to the 819,217 individual Proof coins sold.
