collect4fun Pillar of the Community United States 1151 Posts	Posted 05/12/2007 10:45 pm mila_ Proof coins are made at San Francisco thus have a "S" mint mark. The term "proof" refers to the method of manufacture not the condition of the coin. If you have a " Red Book" there is a section that explains proof coins. Report this Post to the Staff

yavaris Valued Member United States 169 Posts	Posted 05/13/2007 2:41 pm hey mila, i have a 7103 that has room for the S mint Lincolns, since the SF mint hadn't started solely producing proof type coins at the time. so mine has slots for all normal, circulation type wheat ear lincolns, I believe.
