Hello folks,

I am wondering if the coin pictured is an error coin. The " Half Cent" stamping comes through onto the obverse as shown in the picture. Can anyone advise as to the specifics of this potential error? Thanks in advance for any help.

Wow, haven't see this type of PMD on a coin this old. I'd say that it received a blow on the reverse while face down on another Half Cent. The impression on the obverse you see was caused by the reverse of another Half Cent. Someone hit it with a hammer, or some youngster placed it on the path of a horse and buggy.

1) Not stamping; minting.

2) Not minting error, post mint damage
