I believe that it is a die crack inside the "Y" by the crest. This coin is VERY attractive in hand. Anyone care to guess what I gave for her in $USD? I think I got a great deal on it also! The best George 111, any denomination, I have seen. I hope this piece normally lives in a screw capsule. How did you acquire it? Interesting die failure on the 'B' in front of his forehead. I was the only bidder...and got it for what I considered a very good price (the auction start price was $225 USD, or about £145). And, I purchased it 10 days ago, not 10 years ago at that price.
