If the seller of this error is on this discussion group , you might want to take a magnet to this error and see if it sticks . Many of these reside in holders as struck on a dime planchet but they are really on a foriegn planchet . A good magnet will go through the slab . http://www.ebay.com/itm/ERROR-Canad...em4172eda7cf

I am not fully certain and I apologize in advance if I am wrong, but I believe that ebay seller is no longer a member here.

Smallcentguy, you are not wrong... no apology necessary!
PS - See you in Toronto at Coin Expo?

Is the ebay seller price too high? I have a 1986 penny struck on a dime planchet, non magnetic 2.075g.

If it is on a 10-cent planchet (magnetic) then yes, it is much too high. A couple months ago, errorone2012 (the OP of this thread) had a couple for sale in the CCF Auction pages for about 1/3 of that price.
Earlier this year, Canadian Coin & Currency (Steve Bromberg), was selling similar coins (1-cent on 10-cent planchets) for about $450, with a sale price of $295, in NGC holders.

Quote: I have a 1986 penny struck on a dime planchet, non magnetic 2.075g. Can you post photos? Is it uncirculated? Yours would be worth slightly more than 1979-1981, which seem to be the most common years.
