Hi everyone,

I was just curious. I know there a handful of premium select $5 1912-1914 pieces. What are the going rates to own one?

They sell better/faster individually.

Up to about $2000 each.

you mean the ones that cost $875 + HST? I Haven't seen too many offered, but $2000 would be an exceptional amount to pay, and hints of desperation. BTW, my 1912 PS graded a MS63, but so did my HAND Select 1914 $5.....so it's nice if you can view the coin as not all were 'created equal"

There's only been a handful sold on ebay. No idea what the selling price is. I have a couple of these that I want to sell to free up funds for other RCM coins, and I can't seem to price it.

There was a complete set that sold on ebay for under $4000 not too long ago. No HST

Wow, that's stupid money for a 1913 $5 PS,..no offense to anyone who paid $2500. I passed on two that I viewed at the Vancouver boutique store last month. They weren't noticeably nicer than my 1913 HS $5 otherwise I would have bought them for the modest sum of $875 + HSt

I doubt that the premium hand select $5 coins being sold by cdncoin (Steve Bromberg) are high grades. He would have kept the best of the best... and is selling the lower quality premium hand selects. Price is very reasonable for his premium hand select, but just as tripoli eluded too, some of them are just as nice as hand selects.

If I was able to get one for issue price I would consider a 1914 $5 since its a low mintage overall.
