what would you pay for The Counterfeit 1944 Jefferson nickel,a book by Mr Stuckey? what is a good price?
a book dealer said his is for sale at $30.00...is that to much?how rare are they?anyone have a copy?

Never heard of it before...check with Barnes and Noble and see if you can order it; unless it is out of print. Good Luck hope someone can be of more help than me. Oh yes try the library they may be able to shed some light on the subject.

It's out of print and Stuckey just died and the person in charge of his estate is liquidating his remaining copies.

I nabbed my copy a while back for $25, and where Stuckey is very long-winded (each chapter could really be half as long) and uses some highfalutin language, it's the most comprehensive and well-sourced study of the history of Henning nickels that I know of.

If you are really in to counterfeits I'd grab it while they're available. Where a copy won't be particularly *valuable* per se, it will be *much* more difficult to find over the next few years.
