Hi guys,

I recently purchased this coin online as part of a mix lot (it was not advertised as the read deal!). I'm no expert in ancient coins but I had a quick browse online to find some information so I was not able to tell if its 100% fake or not.

I was just curious about what you thought, I don't hold high hopes for the authenticity of the coin but never-the-less its worth a shot!

The coin weighs in at 7.23g (a bit light?) and shows some sheen of metal through the patina.

Here are some pictures of the coin:

I very much appreciate any help!

Try bending it with your fingers. I have exposed one or two fakes in this manner.

Too round, perfectly centered and it seems to have a seam. I call fake on this one I'm afraid.

I agree it's too round and I also see the seam.

The coin is cast not stuck. This is evident from the seam and the fact it is too centered. Looks like a reproduction.

The roundness and the seem mean it's probably counterfeit.

Thanks for the replies. The coin was XRFed and its lead! Just confirming its fakeness.
