I'll keep it towards the top, but I've found that sticky topics don't get read. I don't know why that is. This was the hardest week to list because of the rate changes. I know that we ended up listing rates for overseas too high, but this is because we couldn't have ebay calculate it. Since First Class is now offered for overseas and they have done away with the small flat-rate Priority mailer, it's just a mess. With any luck, ebay will actually get these changes made correctly the first time and the calculations will work. I guess I'll find out with next week's auctions. I wish I had more faith in them getting it right the first time.

Hey they did away with the flat rate Global Priority mailers for $5.25 now you have to use a regular Priority Mail Flat rate envelope and they charge you $9.

Well the .39 cent stamp went to .41 cents, but atleast the .24 cent went down to .17 cents. I feel that's more of a drop in price, rather than a raise. The excess is lower now I believe. sweeto

The charges for domestic first class mail may have gone up a little ,, but the last auctions I held I charged 3.00 across the board ,, I think I will be able to drop it to 2.75 on the next ones and do just fine ,,all of my packages go first class w/delvery confirmation in bubble mailers .I do however do some upgrades for certian packages !! but it averages out .
I dont know why some sellers charge so much for shipping ? its disturbing to me .
I want folks to buy my coins not pay high shipping charges if I break even on shipping and handling Ive done my part IMO.

I'm planning to soon send out my first ever sales of slabbed coins in the $100-$200 range, in bubble mailers. I'm planning to charge for signature confirmation ($2.10) & include mandatory $100-$200 insurance coverage ($2.05 - $2.45). But I'm not sure if I should send it Priority Post ($4.60) or First Class? If First Class, are bubble mailers considered a Retail Flat (2 oz. = .97) or Retail Parcel (2 oz. = 1.30)?
Priority Post total = $9.15. First Class total = about $5.85. Like Metalman says, "I want folks to buy my coins & not pay high shipping charges."
Shipping Recommendations?

If you insure the package delivery confirmation is included ,insurance above 200.00 requires a signature by the recipient.

But insurance (to include signature confirmation) above $200 = $4.60.
Paid separately, insurance up to $200 is $2.45 & signature confirmation is $2.10 = $4.55. Basically the same.
What about: Priority Post total = $9.15 vs. First Class total = about $5.85?

That is correct Rick, but you as the sender do not get the benefit of its use, it's internal PO use only. If you want to use it (for Paypal for example), you need to buy it separately. quote: The charges for domestic first class mail may have gone up a little
They've almost doubled for non-machinables, which coins always should be. Two ounces with E/DC went from .77 to 1.48. quote: If First Class, are bubble mailers considered a Retail Flat (2 oz. = .97) or Retail Parcel (2 oz. = 1.30)?

We use first class if it's 13 ounces or under.

I need to check Bobby but yeaterday I sent a priority box insured and was told that I did not need to use the DC tag anymore since with the change min. insured had a number that I could enter into the system like the old DC number.
since I dont usually check the number until 10 days with no word from the recipient I have not tried it yet .

Rick, I wasn't specific enough. When I said "benefit of it's use" I meant the signature, not the DC.

The thing that the number for the insurance form is trackable it is not very true, I have tried and never worked, maybe they can do it from their system... now if they change that now I dont know... very said the DC went up to .60 cents....Other of the things that make some problem to me is the fact that they posted on their site that now Priority International will have "tracking" to most areas but they do not offer that at all... one positive change is that they lowered the cost of insurance if you ship express mail now is 0.75 per $100 instead of $1.25 per $100.
