Sometimes I just don't know when to stop. I liked the MAESA but just couldn't stop myself from "combining" a few pieces.
Well maybe I will flip them ..... I need to think about it

Well #3 is Sear 5826 Obv. M COMMODVS ANTON AVG PIVS BRIT Rv. P M TR P X IMP VII COS IIII P P S C VICT BRIT (in ex) Victory seated on shields about to insribe another shield balanced on knee. RIC 452

"This type was issued in connection with the barbarian invasion across Britain's northern frontier in the early part of Commodus' reign and the subsequent punitive campaigns of the governor Ulpius Marcellus in Scotland"

Every twenty years or so the legions needed to thin the herd up north so to speak. Hadrian did it Pius did it Commodus did it Septimius did it and even Caracalla needed to spread the benefits of civilization a bit up north. They probably planned ahead for it.

They are all interesting and beautiful. Very nice photos, too! Love the patina on the first coin and the reverse of the last two.
