Hello.

I received this coin (along with others) from my grandfather several years ago.

Despite a lot of research I am having trouble really identifying these coins and therefore finding their value.

I apologize for being the stereotypical newbie coming on a forum to pound for data, but I don't know where else to turn.

Please see pictures:

I appreciate any help or direction you can give - or maybe just asking the right questions.

Simon.

Looks like a commemorative for the peace treaty Israel / Egypt (Begin, Carter and Sadat)

Thank you very much for the link.

Now, would you know how these coins are identified or titled?

I am obviously eventually trying to find a value for these coins (and possible wanting to sell them) so I am trying to find as much information as possible about them.

I appreciate your quick response to this and other help you can give.

All the best!

I'm struggling with the legend on the images. Can you please post a pic of the writing on the first image. Also on the second image down towards 5 o'clock it says ? could this be the designer's initials - what does it say. Thanks

Hello and welcome.

First up, we can say what it's not: it's not an Israeli coin. There's no denomination. That means it's a medal of some kind.

We can say it's a medal commemorating the Camp David peace treaty between Egypt and Israel in 1979.

Stylistically, it looks very much like the products of the Israel Government Coins & Medals Corporation, which makes both official coins and medals. But I can't say that I've ever before seen a coin or medal of theirs where the second language on it is Spanish (or maybe Portuguese), rather than English.

It's presumably been made for sale to Spanish / Latin American people, but whether it was made in Israel or made locally, I can't tell.

Here you go Simon - a value for you

http://www.ebay.com/itm/ISRAEL-EGYP...300556855475

Check the weight and dimensions as yours maybe made from a different metal.

Also email the seller and ask if they have any further details of the maker.

Here's another - seems to have been made by Franklin Mint

http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAP...370770503327

NI SE ADIESTRARAN MAS PARA LA GUERRA â€" Spanish for Neither Shall They
Learn War Anymore. In a ceremony at the White House, Egyptian President
Anwar el-Sadat and Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin sign a historic
peace agreement, ending three decades of hostilities between Egypt and
Israel and establishing diplomatic and commercial ties. Quality product
of the Franklin Mint, nearly flawless dollar-sized (38.6mm).

Price very low - sorry

Wow. I think that's it.

Thank you.

Takes away some of the mystery as to what this medal is and what it's worth.

I have a couple more that I will post now - hopefully you can also help with those!

Again, thanks a ton.
