Hello,

I have a Morgan like the one below with die break above the E in E PLURIBUS.
There are no other die breaks on my coin though. Looked though all of the pictures in the coin facts area and the picture below is the closest match. A few of my friends have looked at it with me and agree there are no other die breaks on my coin.

My camera is not good enough to take a closeup of my coin...

Is there a VAM for my coin or not?

Thanks!

Welcome to Coin Community, Relic. The location of your die crack is quite common with 1921's of all 3 mints, and particularly so with Denver coins. So, as a standalone die crack, it doesn't define a specific VAM in and of itself. There is almost certainly a VAM for your coin - they're all VAMs - but in the absence of obvious die markers it becomes a pretty tedious proposition which might not be fruitful until you bring a microscope to bear.

Thanks for the welcome! Seems there is an active community here.

We looked at it with a 10x loop, will have to step it up and see if there is more to see :)
Will also try to get a good macro camera.
Are there certain VAMs I should compare to or focus on the picture in my post?
Thanks again

The picture in your post is one of my images - 1921-D VAM-1J; I shot all of the 1921 VAMs you see posted on this site. I recognized it instantly and assumed you were using it to illustrate your point about that curved crack above the E.

If you've gone over the rest of the coin with enough diligence to see there are no other cracks (and it sure sounds like you have), chances are whatever variety yours might be would have no additional interest or economic value, and would be purely an intellectual exercise to identify. The only additional work I could suggest is to point your loupe at the wreath, wings and tailfeathers on the reverse for stuff that doesn't seem to belong there. These are not places you'd usually expect to see a crack or other feature, but there are a couple of varieties whose only notable pickup points are in one of those areas.

If it is possible for you to come close to the size and the clarity of that image, by all means throw them up here.
