I brought in my bag of coin today and after the machine was done the teller said something was rattling in the machine. She took the top of the machine off and handed me nine Ikes. No silver but, free coins nonetheless

I guess I'm not understanding. It was your dump in the machine? So were they your Ikes? If not, where did they come from?

Eisenhower dollars are too big to go through the reject slot of most counting machines, so once someone puts them into the machine they simply stay in the counting basin until someone pulls them out. If you've worked on the machines for any length of time you know the sound of Eisenhower rattling in the basin quite easily.

OK Thanks. My bank doesn't have a coin counting machine so I wasn't aware how they worked.

Too bad they werent Morgans!Awesome score though.

If the machine is one of those where you can touch the spinning rubber disc thing, I always spin it backwards before I pour my coins in.
You would be surprised how often something comes back out!
I found a 500 Shillings coin the other day. It was about the thickness of 2 quarters so it didnt go through.
