Got the $100 from the bank today. Unfortunately, it was initialed. Otherwise in pretty good circulated condition.

My wife got the $20 from an ATM this year.

The $2 came from another friendly bank teller who knew I occasionally bought $100 packs of them and saved out the star note. Nicest one of the bunch.

I've got one fairly rare $1, but that one and none of the other ones I have is in great shape.

At face value you cant really go wrong.

Star notes in Australia were stopped years ago and are all very valuable now.

Photos and two questions

The twenty is well used. The $100 and $50 are crisp, but have been folded and the $100 has a small tear.

The Five and Ten have been folded multiple times, but still have some crispness. The two is perfect, except it's not rare.

That "x" one is better than any of my star note ones which all have obvious evidence of having been carried in wallets. The star note shown was from a relatively small run.

Note and series
One - 2009
Two - 2003
Five - 2006
Ten - 2006
Twenty - 2004
Fifty - 1996
Hundred - 2001

Q1. The second one dollar note has an X at the end of the serial number. I've read that all the letters are used in that position, but I cannot remember ever seeing one with a letter past about J. Is that X unusual?

Q2. A teller at the bank showed me a note yesterday where one of the digits in the serial number was significantly above the others. It also seemed a bit fainter than the others. Is that interesting?

Q1 - No. X has been used many times as well as Y.

Q2 - Yes, it is a turned digit error note.
