Good Morning, I was wondering what is the right 1992 $5 AA Polyemer note that go's into my Polymer Collection. The 1992 $5 AA with (Date Stamp) Printed on it, EX Folder note? or the Standed 1992 $5 AA polymer note with out (The Date Stamp)? Just trying to keep the Polymer Collections in the right Order! Hope some one can keep me on the right track with Australian Bank Notes! Being a Coin Head my self LOL!

Cheers jpl..

Put in whatever you want. What is your collection goal? One of each first/last prefix? One of each type? Signature? Year?

Only know a very little on Banknotes, reading the basics at the moment ( but I don't have a Renniks or other type to kick back with! Cheers jpl..

Hi jpl,

You are correct. The notes with a date overstamp are ex folder notes. These notes also have low serial numbers but because they are folder notes and basically "NCLT" they arn't held in the same esteem as a note without the date overstamp.

Also be careful with the prefixes of the 1992 notes as they are not the same as notes post 1992. To be a first prefix it must be AA 00.

So my recommendation to you would be to get an AA 00 (first prefix) or if you have deep pockets an AB 19 (last prefix). Neither of them should have any overstamps.

I hope that helps

Thanks Mob of roo's, It is sinking in a little! So for my Polymer collection $5 through $100, I need a Post 1992 $5 note with out the Date Stamp on it, to keep the polys in order & not contaminate it with the Ex Folder 1992 $5 note ( with Date )on it? does that sound right? Cheers jpl..

It doesn't have to be "post 1992" a 1992 note is great. Just make sure there is no overstamp and that if you are after a first prefix it reads "AA 00" or for the last prefix "AB 19".
