On the advice of several forum members I am taking pre-orders for the CCF token. the token will be 38/39 mm in diameter (About the size of a silver Eagle) Material will be copper They will be 3d in that the design will have relief. They will be edge lettered with the name forum name of the winning designer. Delivery is expected around mid August. Unit cost for pre-order will be $25 including shipping. Cost at time of production will be $25 plus actual shipping. I figure anyone willing to trust me with their money should get a reward so I'll cover the cost of the shipping. Pre-order price is regardless of destination. I will provide proof of mailing to world wide destinations but cannot be responsible for loss of items in the mail. Acceptable payment methods for pre-order are personal check USPS money order or PayPal. Pre-orders will be taken until June 15th If you wish to pre-order please pm me for details.I don't expect this project to do much more than break even in fact realistically its probably going to be run at a loss for me which I have no issue with. in the unlikely event that it does generate a profit the half of any such profits will be donated directly to CCF the other half I will retain until I can figure out a worthy cause to use it on such as purchasing a slabbed coin for the coins for kids program. Just out of curiosity - what are the chances of a follow-up release (re-using the same die obviously) in pure 1 oz silver? And if there is a chance, would you have a ballpark idea on potential price? It would look so fantastic mixed in with my other 1oz silver coins! :)

I can make no predictions. If the initial run covers the cost then a silver run may be possible. As for Price at this point I am unable to speculate.

OK Folks I really appreciate the fact that you are trying to save me money by using PayPal gift. But if you do chose to use this option do not include a note or your address. PayPal has already flagged my account. I could loose the option to accept or send gift payments. So if you do choose to send via gift then please do not include any additional information.

So basically I'll probably never get a token unless someone buys one specifically for me (or international shipping costs decline significantly for some reason - and I'm not sure if it's more or less likely). As it is, I'll either have to ask one of my American friends to pay for me (might not actually be so ridiculously unlikely, except hardly any of them actually collect coins), or just pay by some less safe option (posting cash, Western Union, putting money on the other person's mobile phone account, just sending some silver and/or old coins as payment, pick whatever is less ridiculously awful) when the normal orders come in; and in the second option, the payment amount would have to be close to $70 ($25 for the token, $40 shipping, and $5 because the shipping cost had probably went up since I last looked). ...I can probably afford paying $70 for a token (as in, yes I do have that kind of money lying around), but really, this is the point where it gets ridiculous. Either allow me to do a $25 preorder without any of the complicated methods you list, or, I dunno, when I do make the $70 order put in a Franklin half or something - I don't have these yet (heck, get a good variety of cheap American coins - Morgan dollar, Franklin half, SLQ, Barber half and/or quarter, maybe a Seated dime or something - and we could get it to the point where I could add the American market value of the coins involved to the $70 I pay and still come out ahead as compared to trying to buy these coins over here in Russia!)

According to the US postal service a 2oz package to Russia is is only $6.55 not sure where the $40 comes in. PayPal is a world wide payment system I can even use it here in Angola without issue so I am not sure what the issue is.

IIRC I discussed shipping with another American coinage guy and it was apparently $38.xx or somesuch (and yes, I did look that up and it really came to that amount, which made me really surprised). I guess it could depend on the particular shipping options though (I certainly know that all the recent American coin parcels shipped to me had postage close to $15 - not quite the $6 you said but nowhere near $40 either). As for PayPal, it's more that I would probably need to have a reasonably international credit card to even try to register a PayPal account (I don't yet have one - the account I mean, though very likely I don't have such a card either).

Paypal only requires a bank account to register no credit card required. I can accept credit card payments directly but it costs me close to 4% if the transaction. I can even take cash but that's mailed at your own risk. there are only a limited number of payment options I can use I just chose the the ones that were globally acceptable
As for postage direct from the USPS web site First-Class Package International Service™ Maximum Value for Contents: $400.00 Other than rolls: Max. length 24", max length, height and depth (thickness) combined 36" Rolls: Max. length 36". Max length and twice the diameter combined 42" 2oz $6.55
