I'm tight on money right now and was wondering where the best place to sell my silver dollar collection. I'm keeping the top 100 Morgan dollar that I have and a 1921 with possible missing tail feather. Should I sell now before silver goes lower or wait a few weeks? Also, where is the best place to sell my collection, which has unfortunately been polished, so I know it's worth melt value.

I agree, ebay. Right now dealers will pay between $13 and $16 for each Morgan or Peace dollar.

Even polished they should fetch about $28 to $32 each on ebay. Even with the fees you should see about $25 each,or better. Which is still much better than you would get from a dealer or bullion dealer.

Also dealers, whether bullion or coin, adjust their prices all the time. Or I should say they adjust their buy prices. Most keep their selling prices high and bank the profits.

ebay on the other hand..well..the prices stay fairly level for a long time. There has been some price deflation, but not as much as what a dealer will pay. Good luck!

I agree ebay is the best place to sell Morgans. I bought two Morgans and people kept telling me to sell them since one had a rim ding and the other had black spots. I sold the one with the rim ding, which had XF Details for a BIN price of $31.50 and it sold in 5 minutes. I figured I sold it for two low of a price so listed the other for $34 and that sold in a week.

Agree too. Even the shabbiest Morgans get $27. Most go over $30.

I know what you mean. I don't understand why a 1921 XF with a rim ding sold buy it now in 5 minutes. I started wondering if I sold it for too low or something. I wasn't sure if I could sell it for over $30 but did so quickly. Someone offered $26 for it but someone bought it for $31.50 before I had a chance to respond. All in a few minutes.

Silver is low and likely will rebound. That is the thought process. They are counting on a good return in a month or three.
