Anyone enter the contest through the mint to design the 2014 baseball commemorative?

By the lack of responses, I'm guessing no one from CC entered! The US Mint held this contest open to the public to design this baseball themed coin. I had to rush my entry, so it is not as good as I wanted it to be. It would be one of the coolest moments if they choose my design. There is also a $5000 award, which is icing on the cake. It truly could just be getting the coin made with my design that would make me thrilled.
Oh...and I found out that only 178 people entered. Who knows how mine compares, but I like those odds!

If I could draw I would have given it a shot, in hindsight I probably should have tried to put something together anyway

Basebal- I know there are better artists than myself, but I couldn't help but try.
Judging will take a few months, but they will post the semi-finalists up on the website. I will copy a link to CC if mine gets that far.

That's really interesting... I toyed with the idea of putting together a design, but never got around to it/took it seriously enough. If I had thought there would only be 178 entries however... I could have easily made the top 200 finalists!

That's what I'm thinking, Speck. I'll be amazed if I even make the semi-finals. I ended up doing most of the work cramped on an airplane. Surely there are good artists out there that nailed it. I'm just hoping my design was unique enough that they give me some slack for my shortcomings.

I think that they are supposed to pick the semi-finalists next week and post those designs. If I'm chosen, I'll post the link. If I'm not, I'll post my picture.

Well, despite the odds, I wasn't a semi-finalist. Sure, I had a lot of hope, but realistically little chance. I tried to make my design different, but at the end of the day, it was probably not right for a coin. Fun challenge, though. I can't wait to see what they choose.
If only I could figure out how to post my design....
