Saturday I acquired a set of Golden Gate International Exposition 50th Anniversary medals at a flea market. The pair are housed in a very nice folder. The inside of the cover is a sheet which describes the medallions as being silver and at the bottom under the spotting is .999 Fine Limited Edition NO. 131 - 132. The design is one of the most common produced during the Expo with one each showing the obverse and one showing the reverse. The reverse has been modified by the addition of Museum at the bottom.
I have not seen this piece before and I have not been able to find anything about it on the internet anywhere. If anyone knows anything about this medal I would greatly appreciate the information.
The guy I bought this set from said they weighed one ounce each and I haven't tried to take them out. Both are enclosed in plastic.
