Looks like the Mint has the 2007 Little Rock Coins for sale.
I purchased the Coin and Medal set.
This set is limited to 25,000. Anyone else going to buy one ?

The commemoratives this year aren't doing it for me. I'll get them in the 2007 Legacy Set, but those are the only copies I'll get.

Tpatna,

I ordered my 2007 Little Rock Coin and Medal Set, 2 minutes after the Mint opened the site for orders. That was on May 15 and the current information on my shipment is: In stock and reserved. I truly do not know what that means, does anyone else? I know what they are implying, but have been given firm delivery dates on a couple occasions and it has been changed each time. Further, I am amazed that the measly 25K sets have not been "sold out" yet. I read someplace on the Internet that only 2,500 sets are left to sell and that was last week. My belief is that in September, when the actual anniversary come around, that the demand for these sets will increase as people learn about it and want to purchase one. Once the delivery starts and some folks are unable to get a set, the demand will also go very high as the " ebay high rollers" will have a monopoly on the sets.
I am happy that some of our forum members have ordered this set, since it will be a great addition to the commemorative collectors.

Sleaklight asked, "anyone know the specific size dimensions of these?"

The silver dollar is 1.5" in diameter and I think the medal is same diameter. The silver dollar is 90% silver and 10% copper, weight is 26.73 grams. Could not find the medal info, sorry, am sure someone will provide it shortly.

Hello everyone,, just wanted to let you know I received my sets today and I plan on leaving them in the mint sealed box for the time being until I find out how the TPG's will handle certifying the sets. Hope other forum members receive their sets in short order. Those who do can inform the others on what they look like in hand.

Once you get the coin and medal set can you post a picture of the case that they're in and how they are displayed.

I think this particular commem. will have limited appeal, but I could be wrong! I was at the U.S. mint yesterday (they have a retail counter at 9th and I in Wash D.C.). One of the benefits of living near D.C. About three customers in line ahead of me bought various commemoratives and medals, but all of them passed that one by. Admittedly, that's a very small sample size to judge from. One guy bought 15 Tuskegee Airmen bronze medals at $3.75 each. Whaddaya wanna bet these show up on E-bay any day now for a low, low starting price of $7.75 plus shipping?

I am debating whether to get the proof of this from the mint, wait to get it in the aftermarket later, or not get it at all. Unfortunately the designs from our mint are hit or miss with me.

It especially disheartening because when I look at the RCM ( Royal Canadian Mint) products my quandary is how I will be able to afford getting all the coins I want from them - with our mint it's more of a decision if I really like it/if it's worth it.

The packaging of the Coin and Medal set is a bit of a letdown for me. I was expecting more, but I wasn't terribly surprised. It is a large illustrated sleeve containing a vertical folding cardboard with nice presentation text and pictures, with the coin and the medal in their encased capsules. It's almost sold out at the Mint, but not quite yet as of today.

I thought the folder would contain more pictures, considering the history behind the coin.
