The technical grade based strictly on surface preservation is closer to AU53 IMO. The 58 grade is a bit of a gift for good color and luster. I believe AU55 would have been the best compromise. Not complaining though, it did sell for 53 money and I was happy to buy it for that price. This one I'd bet I'd get in hand but I was sure the spots everyone was seeing as rub (actually were rub) I thought were just toning breaks. Great study piece BH1964 - especially considering there is a $500.00 difference between my wrong guess and the actual guess. Though if I was buying it I could see PCGS's grade assigned, I still think it's nicer than AU53 at least an AU58 as you also think, but from 53 to 58 it's only a $50 difference.
