When I first saw this from afar and thought it would most likely be a 2000-2008 date or maybe a 1990's, but was surprised to find it was a 1982-p small date. It has been my experience that almost all 1982-p large date and most 1982-p small dates are fairly poorly struck. I know it's not worth much more than a penny, but it really jumped out at me, being in the condition it is.

As an added bonus it displays MD under Abe's nose and a small die chip in front of his eye. Definitely this is going in my " Cool but not valuable" box. Maybe even in 2x2.

That does look like a later date penny. Nice coin Its got to be worth of a 2x2. It would fit great in a set of 1982 coins for comparison.
