Its a lovely type - I reckon Ill keep an eye out for any unholed ones in the future. Its a nicely executed type too! This one is black and glossy with some highlights of copper.

Also shows off the popular footwear of the day!

Awesome token. I'm assuming it's a condor?

Not a Conder - conder tokens were issued before this. They were generally 1780-1800, very large and they were used as legal tender. Whilst this coin has no certain date attatched, farthings never got struck as conder tokens and the style is much later (1830-50).

I just learnt something new, young Charles Dickens worked at Warren's Blacking Factory. He did not enjoy it!

Very nice token. I have a question about the hole:what is it used for and why is it square? I just clicked on your ebay listings and there was zero items for sale, just so you know.

John, I havent listed anything in the past week - got a good slurry of exams whizzing by and havent had time. I'm putting some up today or tomorrow though!

The hole is square because it was made with a nail. Perhaps this was on a wall for a while or perhaps just to make the hole, but a square nail (probably a floorboard nail) was rammed through this at some point.

Good luck with your exams. I was thinking it was a horseshoe nail.
