Are these in TOP III TPG slabs or airtites? #1 looks original to me #2 & #3 look reprocessed or cleaned in some way.

Not TPG, just generic plastic cases.

I hate how they were done over.
Number one looks untouched

Look at the edge. Originals have exposed steel, reprocessed ones do not.

Here's the edge examples: The re-plated one in on the left, original one is on the right.

I ended up with a couple examples from my fathers collection. He had written on the 2x2 UNC. They didn't look right so I broke them out and took a closer look. They had been replated with the edges looking like the example above. I do have 4 others that haven't been touched and are in real nice shape.

Actually it is a lot more difficult to know which is which today. So many have been reprocessed by so many different methods, some just look original. And not all are redone in Zinc either. I've got approximately 2,500 of the 1943 Cents. Used to have over 5,000 but gave a lot to kids. Almost a half roll of the Chromed ones. 3 of the Copper plated ones. Possibly about 100 to 200 redone with Zinc. Some have been Tinned. Some of the redone ones in Zinc look as good as any original. I can see why some were Chromed, Tinned and/or Copper plated. Great novelty items. However, the cost and time to Zinc plate one and then sell for $0.10 to $0.25, if lucky, makes no CENTS.
