I've owned this coin for over 10 years and just happened to learn of this variety..... Moral of the story is get your coins out and look for varieties.

That's why I stash away my pennies for a rainy day. Varieties always get discovered and it's nice to be able to sift through them.

Got tired of waiting, looked it up in CherryPickers :) 1957-D, RPM (misplaced mint mark), unusual in that it was the master die which was repunched. I was disappointed to see the prices for ebay listings and recent sales-- thought it would command a much higher premium. Huh. Go figure. Very cool, I hope to find one.
