I think I finally got good enough pics to be able to grade my 1808 S277 12 star LC. see what you guys think of her. these classic heads (1808-1814) are plagued with soft planchets and weak strikes. anything in VF or higher are highly prized. this is one of my favorites and starting me on my Large Cent adventure. the missing 13th start was due to a broken die and should be located on the lower left string of stars.

If you are interested in learning more about the S-277, we had an interested thread a little while back comparing 3 different ones and the sequence of striking at - https://goccf.com/t/147813#147813

Nice large cent! And yeah these classic heads are tough to come by. I am finding yours a challenge to grade. It is obviously a coin with surface issues; but with that aside I am seeing Fine grading in the bust, the split stars on the right are a boost towards MS, the detailed leaves on the reverse I give a AU grade. At the end of the day and taking the surface issues into play I will say Fine corroded surfaces.

I think it would grade VF details. Surfaces look corroded.

F15 corroded surface. Still a nice old large cent with a lot of detail showing.
