I won an auction and tried another E-Bay Seller to get a pair of uncirculated 2009 P&D Roosevelt dimes. I just wanted them as uncirculated, unblemished and unmarked on the surfaces so I Can fill 2 slots in my "Low Mintage" page in my binder coin book. The auctions said they were uncirculated and the pic's looked good so I went with it. Well after examining this round of coins I had to return these as well because of light scratches. I asked the sellers why they were scratched and they said they came from bank rolls not mint rolls and were not gem uncirculated so what did I expect. I guess its in the term the ebay sellers use.

Even if they say "Brilliant Uncirculated", one man's BU can be different than the next guy's. But you didn't say what the seller called his coins.

This is what the last auction had titled it: 2009 Roosevelt dime P&D SET FROM BEAUTIFUL UNC ROLLS! And the description: You are bidding on a 2009 Roosevelt dime P&D Set Straight from BEAUTIFUL UNC ROLLS!

Uncirculated coins can have scratches on them. Ones cut out of mint sets are really the only ones that dont get victimized by that, but youll have to pay a premium for cutting the sets up to make sure you dont get bag marked ones

I just went through 2 rolls of Native American dollars directly from the mint and most had significant scratches on them. I was very disappointed as several from Denver even had discoloration marks on the coins.

The 2009 mint set will be the satin finished set... so if you are looking for circulation sets - you are probably stuck with bank rolls to find them with the uncirculated finish.

Baseball you are right and I am willing to pay a small premium to get the non satin finish coins that are uncirculated and hopefully scratch free. I am in the market for 2 sets only. I have contacted every ebay dealer to ask for these dimes so by tomorrow I should have my answer hopefully.

Hey Solo, yes I have 2 sellers but get this, one has three 2009P dimes that are stratch free and another has four 2009D dimes scratch free. So I am in the process of getting 2 of each dime. I have bought coins from these sellers over the months and I have come to trust their coins. If you want info on them let me know. I will turn on my email.

Well that's great news. I have the 2009 P and D with some very light scratches. ( I mean in my Dime folder) I don't need the info on them, I just wanted to make sure you got them.
