Wow I didn't think their were that many counterfeit coins out there. Makes me worry about my collection

It is actually illegal to possess Canadian counterfeit coins.... my advice would be not to advertise a collection on a public forum...

For Canadian coinage they are illegal to own.

i did not know that they were illegal to own SPP, that being said, I wouldn't mind getting rid of them... how do I go abouts? and I will upload a picture of the quarter tonight, my local coin dealer - good friend found it

bullion-investor13, I take counterfeit coins to the RCMP headquarters counterfeit lab, here in Ottawa, which are then destroyed. Before I do that, I photograph and document each coin, and then test it with the XRF in my lab at work. I am slowly compiling a database of contemporary and modern Canadian counterfeit coins. Eventually, some of that information will be available here on CCF.

I could dispose of them for you, and maybe offer you a coin in return for your trouble. Send me a message when you hit 50 posts, or ask a moderator to assist you in contacting me.

Is that error on the 2012 quarter actually an error? Or could it be nail polish or another PMD substance ?

Just wondering based on the photo, hard to tell

I've seen colourized 1812 coins with off-centered coloured spots, one or two being slightly outside the border. How offset do these have to be to become errors?
