I'm the same, chuckster. May 9 order, originally 7/25, now 7/11. I can live with that.

So does that mean silvertowne still needs to send the out to be graded?

Stev more than likely. But the TPGs will bump those to the front of the line for a massive order that size for someone like Silvertowne who does that much business.
Then again that may have just been their raw order and their ones for grading are already at the TPGs.

it seems silvertowne ordered 2400 sets, not sure how many 70 sets are going to come back. 2012 seems they have less come back than expected, maybe it will be better this year since west points has pretty good quality control on proof coins. the price of 70 sets may not as good as 2012.

Re: Price of the WP vs. SF
As was mentioned previously many times...the difference between the two sets is that this set has TWO unique coins...and one of those coins is a first of its' kind (Enhanced)...yes the WP quality has been great and that probably will result in more 70's but the combo of an RP and a 1st time "enhanced" burnished should bode well for this set....

I agree with fox that the first time new coin and as long as the mint doesn't sand bag us again having two unique coins are strong indicators for the set doing well.
There should be more 70s this time around with the better quality, but the 2011 set actually has by far and away the most 70s, almost double the 2013 amount actually, and those carry a very nice premium.

. Question 1) I think if I submit an unopened box I get the new PCGS label, but I dont think it says anniversary on it. Will I up my chances of getting 70's by submitting them unopen or it doesn't matter?
Question 2) Reason I ask is because I submitted 2 5oz pucks, one opened that I wiped with alcohol. Found a good amount of silver powder on it. I used a lint free cloth (non-paper) I don't know if that is a good idea or what?
My noobness and/or ignorance prevents me from walking upright.

Regarding getting sandbagged I noticed the uncirculated set on the mint site and started wondering if they were gonna throw this new coin in there and burn the 2 coin buyers again...

Elmo it doesn't matter if its unopened or not as far as getting a better grade. In a lot of ways its easier to just send it unopened and now play around with removing them. As far as wiping them with alcohol my gut is that I wouldnt say to do that. If its good enough to send in I would send in as is, if its got flaws I would return it for a new one.
Stev they better not do it. It was bad enough last year but if they do it back to back years youll see A LOT of cancellations again especially if they do it with the new coin

Unopened vs. opened:
PCGS in May stated that in order to get the set graded with a First Strike label it had to be submitted in the unopened mint shipping box. Since the two coins are unique to the set it was assumed that this was a mistake by PCGS and the coins could be submitted in their capsules (making visual inspection possible before submitting). As of yet this has NOT been changed...dumb but not changed.
Alcohol....I would never use alcohol on a coin. If you are going to use a solvent for whatever reason use acetone ...and rinse with distilled water...alcohol has way too many impurities (unless it is reagent grade from a lab)

ty Fox. Like I said, I used a linen cloth and found a lot of gray powder after wiping it. I know that IPA will streak (fingers, etc), but it looked so much better sans dust. Guess I'll get a grade soon, but I didn't like the edges on the puck anyway. They have the 3 runners along the rim, I guess thats how they make the blanks. kinda like plastic injection molding. So I am all for getting the powder off to restore the luster IFF it doesn't streak or damage the surface. The metal powder may act like sandpaper wiping it off, so idk. Reagent grade and DI, great ideas, I'll order some. on the ASE's I was under the impression that I can send in any coin within 30 days of release to get FS label. The FS cutoff for 2013 White Mountain was postmarked by June 19. They must have diffrent rules for the new ASE sets. I thought I read a thread that they will extend the FS rule for these?
