I swear the mint's computer has me flagged as a hassling target!

I sent back in the last batch of 5 messed up sets, and decided (after it was out the door) I would risk it and have them send me just ONE set back and refund me for the other 4. in the back of my mind I was also thinking of doing this as a test to see if they could get it right this time.

So the day I shipped these out, I called CS and got Linda. After relating everything that has happened so far, I asked she to send me back just ONE set and refund the other four. After she said she had typed this message into my account, I again relayed to her that I wanted her to make sure this was done properly b/c of the problems I had been having.

Later that week I got an email saying they had refunded the 5 sets.

I called CS and got Linda again (I was going to ask for her anyway). She remembered I had asked her TWICE to make sure a set got shipped out to me and that she was to refund me for four of them. She sounded surprised I was refunded for all of them. She checked the computer, and sure enough, her note was there, but the record said they simply refunded all 5.

I told her, nicely, I was not surprised. Test failed!

She apologized profusely for the trouble I keep having with their system.

THEN I had to tell her I was glad I had received 23.60 refund for shipping on the 2nd time I sent 5 sets back, but the 1st time I was only refunded 6.00. to my account and asked her to correct this please.

She asked if I had FAXed in the initial shipping cost receipt with a note asking for a refund. I told her my wife said she did this twice.

Linda looked up in the computer and said the records say they never got the twice-FAXed-receipt/request (although our FAX copies say they were received).

Another surprise came up when she did a bit more digging on the 6.00 refund. She found out the 6.00 they refunded me was from SOMEONE else's order and not mine!

I told her that really, I was having fun with this overall despite temporary frustrations. I explained to her that I am a rare individual who has all the time in the world, so I can afford to spend 3-4 hours on a phone to get things fixed and it really does not bug me b/c I just sit at the computer and have fun with other things while on the phone with them.

Yesterday I got an email saying they refunded my 23.60 for the first package.

So case closed - or, at least I hope their computer sees it as this way

I needed some extra $ to buy a good pistol anyway

Some PCGS 69s ended at $135 tonight. I was about 1 second to late to bid.

I ordered 4 sets and the mint messed up and shorted me 1 set. Looks like they'll credit my CC. I'm still upset!

carmykle: You can do better and buy a few graded set (some of the big dealers are having big discount for PF70 coins) a PF70 set can be had for around $250 or less (cheaper than the $280 I was paying for when they first released them).

So, after 38 pages, and the final mintage declared, this poll shown our member bought about 300 +/- sets =~ about 0.128% of the mintage.

I did my little inventory and realized that I've ordered 3 sets of PCGS PF/MS 70 and 2 raw sets.

Price wise, it seemed like the price of this year (and 2012-S set) haven't appreciated much. I even saw some PCGS PF/MS sets selling for cheaper than initial price ($280/set) by some major retailers.... is it because of market saturation or people just got tired after 3 consecutive years?

Even though these are "collectible" versions.....I'd say the drop in silver spot has hurt some.

Both. Doing it every year does make it less special, but so does the mint to demand. If theyd dont a 150k or even 200k mintage a lot of people would want them the mint to demand cheapens it though.

From the sales last year it looked like probably 30-40% were bought just to resell, it was probably even higher this year. Theres just too many being bought to be put on the secondary market.

If we are looking back to 2006, the set in 2006 was also mint to demand (as I've recalled) and the mintage was close to 250K. Obviously 2006 and 2013 situation is a bit different too.... the economy is worse now, PM have been on a downtrend, more products on the market.... these are the things I didn't thought of with my last post..... do you agree?

The 06 set also had the advantage of being the first one, but I would definitely agree the economy cant be ignored. The less money you spend the more you pick and choose what you would buy extra. More products and less money and you get people scattered around for what they pick. The sales seem to be the same but it seems like each year more and more of the sets are being bought for resale.

I just checked and APMEX is having a special sale on this set in PCGS PF/MS70 FS at $225 ($65 cheaper, compare to when they first came out). Anyone still looking for a graded set, now is a good time to get them...... I would have got a few more graded set; however, I've already got 3 graded sets and two raw sets. That's enough for me for now.
