Have come across four so far where the bud seems to be doubling or what I call split bud . At the top right side the bud is splitting . This is the best picture I can get .

Hi CPC

I know what you mean on those buds; I've seen them on the 1963's as well. I don't know what causes it, as I don't see doubling anywhere else on the reverse. Possibly a small die chip extending the size of the bud, or a bit of filling in the die in the bud to cause the doubling/splitting illusion.
