I recently picked up a 1995 Alaska Goldpanner proof medallion, made by Alaska Mint. I had never heard of nor seen any of their product before. I Googled Alaska Mint, and Oh My what an assortment of beautiful silver and gold items they make. This could easily become addictive, but pricey.

This 1995 medallion has a really, really tiny natural gold nugget "from the icy waters of Alaska" in the miner's pan, which I thought was kinda neat. There is no indication on the coin for silver content or weight, until I did find .999 fine silver on the rim, and it weighed in on my cheap scale at 31.3. (Could the gold nugget be .2 gram?)

Is anyone else here infatuated with the products of this mint?

We've discussed the Alaska Mint here a few times already, here's one link to one of them on here...
https://goccf.com/t/139989

The Alaska mint medallions are the only "coins" my fiancé collects. She has almost the complete Alaska state medallion series, the wildlife series, and some of the sub categories (wolf, bear etc) but she only buys the proof 1oz's that are gold plated, none of the solid silver or solid gold. I think she has 17 or so total now... But I could be wrong, lol. But she's still needs quite a few to complete all the series, quite a few indeed. They have ALOT of coins in each of many series!

Yours should be 1oz of silver... All of ours (well hers, lol) say 1ozt .999 silver around the edge (as well as some other stuff) but as you'll notice from the link I posted not all say that.. I don't know if the proofs do and the others not, or what, but again, all of ours are proofs and all say that. They do have 2oz medallions as well, we don't have any but I'd assume they say 2ozt on the edge. Is yours gold relief? Or does the regular prospector series silver one have a gold nugget as well? ....just curious.. We don't have any of thy series.

There prices on the alaskamint website are unbelievably high... But on ebay, or at coin shops (when you happen to find them) they are WAY less! For instance... This one below is the only one I've previously uploaded a photo of, and also the first she bought.. On the Alaska mint website it's listed at $210... On ebay around $99-$100.... But she got it at one of my local coin shops for $60! That was the cheapest we've found one, all since have been more...

I've seen them sell on ebay quite often. They do make some really - really pretty medallions. I have bid and lost on several and have yet to win any at a price I'd accept.

Thanks to all for looking, and NathanASE especially for the info and great picture.
My picture taking and my CCF picture uploading is awful, but let me try again.

Well, that seemed to work, but not too clear pictures. Sorry about that. I paid $50 for this, which is more than I usually pay for silver rounds.
I looked again, and all I see on the rim is "Alaska Mint .999 fine silver."
