brenpickle Pillar of the Community United States 836 Posts	Posted 06/01/2013 9:19 pm I know the coin is in horrible shape, but this would be my first cent clip, so that is why I am curios. I don't see any blanksy effect, but there is a nick on the side with the clip like it had been circulating with the planchet clipped so I think it is the real deal. jasper62 Pillar of the Community United States 2189 Posts	Posted 06/02/2013 02:09 am I'll go out on a limb and say it's real.Notice the full rim all the way around the obverse until you get below the bust of Lincoln,It appears to flatten out I would call that the Blakesly effect. On the reverse above the wheat stalk looks like it took a hit.Looks like it got hit by that ole ugly stick but it looks real. Incomplete planchet aka clip Report this Post to the Staff
