Hello,

Have a temperance token that I would like to have identified (dated)
Sorry no picture available at present.

Description: Approximately same size as large British Penny and is made of some sort of alloy. Highly corroded and found associated with artifacts ranging from the 1820's to 1860's.

Front at the top says: Temperance is the Fountain of Health Innocence and Happiness
Front Lower Says: They Shall Prosper That Love Thee

Illustration in Central area is of a Woman Standing with a basket in one arm, a lamb on her left side and a beehive like structure to her right

OBVERSE

Has Sunburst image at top
Central area inscription reads"DO ABSTAIN FROM ALL INTOXICATING LIQUID" Below that it has the date which is 18-- the last two digits are illegible

Encircling the perimeter of the coin near the top is illegible but the lower portion says : TEMPERANCE SOCIETY"

I appreciate any leads as to the origin of this token or direction to someone that specializes in Temperance Tokens

thanks

I moved your welcome post to the 'Identification: Unidentified Coins, Medals, and Tokens' forum for the proper attention.
