So I count around 17 silver and many base medal but not sure what I have really. I know the grades are not high but I think I did OK. Any info appreciated but this is the only scan I have until they arrive. Marbury

Looks like a pretty fun lot to me! Those young Queen coins would be enough for me, especially the 20 center!

Yes a fun evening going through them......only cost £110 hammer for the 63 coins,,,looks like I over paid on the NFLD coin lot so there better be some value in this group.

I know the copper and bronze aren't as sexy as the silver but I picked out these three coins to go along with my next submission to ICCS. They look nice in the hand but less so under the full glare of my high res camera and the dusty printer they sat on. They were picked out of the lot posted above. As I live in the UK I get charged $100 shipping on every submission so need to send a few coins each time.

$100 for shipping

Is ICCS some sort of grading company? I don't know of anyone else here in the UK that really bothers with that - is it expensive?.

I see that there are no Victorian or Edwardian 50 cents in this lot. Perhaps not surprising, they can be a little pricey in VF or better.

Yes, ICCS is the best grading Co for Canadian and Newfoundland coins, which I am sending but they make sense for such colonial coins too and are far cheaper than NGC/PCGS per coin. there were quite a number of early 20c but grade were poor really. As the cost is only about $10 per coin these straits settlements coins are worth sending in my view. Re UK collectors not bothering with grading, I send coins for grading all the time. If you are selling coins on e-bay it makes sense to grade and it preempts returns and compliants. It also makes sense financially....say you buy a common 1934 Junk dollar for £50 in high grade raw from a UK auction house, graded at MS63 they sell for $280 on e-bay.
